ANNA RIKJE ROSENTHAL
Back in 2004, I decided to start a project called "Anna Rikje Rosenthal". In essence, ARR was a shy 17 year old girl, very ambitious, not so good at guitar, but very good at writing silly pop songs. The first attempts were humble, yet upon finishing high school two years later, ARR started playing concerts all over town (Berlin, that is), and eventually toured all of Germany, Poland and at some point crossed the Atlantic Ocean, even. Those were good times. Notably, ARR supported Of Montreal at a few of their Europe gigs, went on tour with Jonah Matranga, and one day opened for John Mayer. ARR was, during this time, very much associated with the bands The Michelles and The Poem Is You, two very talented Berlin based bands who were hitting the stages between 2006-2009. They collaborated a bunch. Later Anna also sung some songs with Plemo, Norman Palm, and started a side project Young and Sad together with Tim from The Michelles. At some point, Anna befriended Lexy of the DJ duo Lexy & K-Paul, with whom she started collaborating more often over the past few years.
This is a collection of yesterday's past.
